Father at 54 is me. It’s true. I am going to be a first-time father this year. August 16, 2014 to be “exact”. Well, according to the experts anyway. I had pretty much given up on the idea of being a father when I was around 40. I just figured that train had left the station.
We knew in the middle of December, but didn’t start telling people until today (January 9th) when we saw the heartbeat for the very first time. It seems that half of my wife’s family pops out children like rabbits, and half of them have miscarriage issues.
I’ll be writing about my thoughts, feelings, and fears, (both real and imagined) as I make the transition from Paul to Daddy.
If you’d like to join me on this trek, just hit “follow”. I’ll be introducing you to my friends, my family, and to the people who made me who I am. Eventually, I think I’ll be confronting the fear that sometimes seems overwhelming.
I’ll tell you stories, I’ll let you peek into the part that makes me tick.
Most of all, I will be trying to make you smile.
